Re: Settings window

Made some more progress. It's not perfect yet. But I think I could address issues and get it into a state where it is 'production-ready' in a foreseeable amount of time. Question is, do we think it would be feasible for the pause menu / settings menu to eventually make it to the main branch? (And, d...

Re: Forum spam

Hm, I don't see any new buttons, and I'm logged in and did a hard reload of the page (Ctrl+Shift+r using Firefox). Still just the ! and " buttons. Maybe it's a rights issue; only admins/mods can see it? Yeah, it looks like the buttons only appear for moderators/admins. Makes sense, because the make...

Re: Forum spam

Unfortunately we still got the usual "PC Games" spam from India, and some other as well. The extension has a threshold setting: Stop Forum Spam threshold: The extension will check against a threshold (e.g., the number of times a user name, email or IP address is found within the stop forum database...

Re: Ghost of Persia

I played the mod. I really like the visual style. Nice that you changed the music as well. It's strange and eerie. And this spoiler explains how you know which blue potion to drink: I also completely missed that. Here's how I guessed correctly: I thought the screen symbols might be a map of a...

Re: Forum spam

Maybe there are still other things that we could try. This extension looks promising: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/phpbb_3.1_stop_forum_spam/ From the description of the extension: Extension will query the stop forum spam database on registration and posting (for guests only) and de...

Re: Settings window

Added: * Scrolling * Enabling/disabling bug fixes (for now, you can enable them all at once, then turn off all the ones you don't like) * Added some of the customization options (just numbers that can be increased/decreased, sliders don't really seem to be appropriate there) Actually, any key exits ...

Re: princed.org (phpBB forum + webpages)

I will be absent from 10 December 2017 until 11 January 2018.
While I do not expect any problems, please be aware that I will probably not be able to administer the forum during that time.
I will of course make good backups before I leave.

Re: Settings window

Here is a demo of the experimental in-game menu system I've been working on for SDLPoP. My goal is to create an in-game menu that works within the constraints of a 320 by 200 resolution, and is intuitively used with mouse, keyboard and controller. In terms of functionality, the idea is that it becom...

Re: SDLPoP; David's open-source port of PoP

I don't know enough about OS X to know what an application bundle is. The ZIP files on popot.org only have Windows and Linux executables, maybe the executable from your package should be added? Or would OS X also need lots of other DLL(-like) files for the game to run? It's a normal directory, but ...

Re: Forum spam

Interestingly, the majority of recent spammers have Indian IP addresses. I mentioned something similar back in my first post: http://forum.princed.org/viewtopic.php?p=22067#p22067 Yes, sorry, I must have glossed over that when I first read your earlier post. I just find it incredible to think that ...

Re: SDLPoP; David's open-source port of PoP

I made an SDLPoP application bundle for macOS (built and tested on version 10.12.6). GitHub: https://github.com/NagyD/SDLPoP/pull/149 If you are on macOS and want to change the game settings (SDLPoP.ini) for this app bundle, for now you need to right-click the bundle and choose 'Show package content...

Re: Settings window

More half-baked design experimentation. I got some inspiration from The Witcher 3's in-game menu, which I think is pretty good.

Reminds me of phone scammers, who also quite often seem to be based in India (warning: explicit language / cursing):

Re: Settings window

Maybe it would be nice if you could summon a settings window through a pause menu, something like this:
