Re: Places where you can get stuck

Another in level 2 (suicide possible): https://www.popot.org/documentation/videos/stuck7 Also, in level 4, if you first drop the loose of room 9 on the raise in room 18, then the loose of room 16 on the raise in room 17, then use the drop in room 9 and jump down there. You will not be able to contin...

Oh, I thought there had to be more, but apparently not.

Re: KID.DAT page on PoPOT

Thanks for the overview. I did fix the VPALACE.DAT of KX - Out of Time and updated a related screenshot. And I added three new KID.DATs by Brain that weren't listed yet. And then new screenshots are required... Yeah... Everything else I will probably never fix. Because I'd have to spend my limited s...

Re: PoP1 SEGA Genesis cheat codes

(Just to be sure, did you also check that the Europe version does react?) Yep. It unpauses the game with (certain?) hits though, so it's primarily useful to do a general check whether it reacts to anything. Again we see how differently we approach the same problem. Heh, yeah. Although occasionally ...

Re: Places where you can get stuck

There are also more complicated ways to get stuck. In level 7, two examples: - In room 7, drop the loose tile on the drop button. This will close the left gate there. By closing it, the gate will now slowly close after it has been re-opened by the raise button in that room. Now simply drink the floa...

Another.
(Of course, guards can be used like this in several more places. I won't list them all.)

Fun idea.
Here are two more.
[Edit: Although... suicide is still an option here.]

Re: PoP1 SEGA Genesis cheat codes

[...], so it looks like I didn't find any new codes. Too bad. It would've been nice if your efforts would've paid off with an extra code. ;) In case the ROM hides these, I could manually try combinations. If it's the same as the EU version, there are only (3^8=) 6561 combinations possible, right? :...

Re: Checklist Before Releasing Mod

there are not so much releases this days That's true, but quality over quantity. Better to have a couple of good mods than lots of mediocre ones. except maybe Dos version. Well, except for 2015 and maybe 2011, there were never many SNES releases. Occasionally I'm thinking about creating one myself,...

Re: Various

I recently realized that the PoP1 for SNES ending animations, after the ending text, are customly generated in real-time, using the mod's rooms. For instance, with Hell of a Palace , the prince drinks a potion instead of picking up a sword. I haven't checked, but I guess this means some mods might h...

Re: Checklist Before Releasing Mod

[P] Do the background stripes look okay (no unintentional empty spots in between lines)? I still frequently see mods where palace wall patterns do not continue on empty tiles. [G] Has the mod name never been used before? This still happens too, recently with Flying Prince . So, now I'm wondering if...

Re: Various

Found a bit of info about an old PoP fan website. From 2004-2009, Zain Alvi, currently a Ph.D. in Molecular Bioscience at Seton Hall University ( 1 , 2 ), ran, using his nick "Zapages", the PoP fan website " Prince of Persia Legacy ". The website was hosted by GameSpy, accessible...
